About us

Simon Cook and Julius Davison have a combined experience of 23 years in the Offshore Financial Services Industry, both residing in Kuala Lumpur for the past decade.  Simon and Julius were both founders of Intelligent Investments Limited (A Labuan licensed Insurance brokerage and financial advisory practice) in 2006 and as Directors they have since developed the business, actively managing clients’ portfolios and being involved in all aspects of the advice process; driving the company to where it is today.

Both are strong advocates of ethics within the financial planning arena and believe that the future of the industry should be based the openness of the reasoning for the advice that is provided as has started to take place in some more developed and regulated markets.  To do this they believe that the whole structure of remuneration within the financial services industry needs to be standardised and opened up allowing advisers to provide the best advice for clients based on their needs and not the commission that is payable to them from product providers, investment funds and other third parties.  Only this approach will enable clients to be satisfied that they are being provided good advice and not just another product sale.

Simon holds a BSC in Geology from Southampton University as well as numerous qualifications from the CII and other professional bodies.  In Malaysia he is currently an elected Council Member of the Labuan International Insurance Association (LIIA) that represents the Labuan Insurance Industry and interacts regularly with the Labuan Financial Services Authority (LFSA).  In his free time Simon enjoys cycling, trail running and technical diving as well as a range of other sporting activities.

Julius holds a BA in Politics and Economics from Reading University as well as other professional qualifications.  His skills and knowledge in the industry has led the firm in upholding its reputation in delivering quality and service to our clients.
